Lourdes Industries Assembler - Mechanical in Hauppauge, New York

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing a wide variety of mechanical assembly operations of Hydraulic and pneumatic valves, which includes skilled hand work. Work is semi-routine in nature, following detailed established processes and procedures. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and wiring on assembly units.

Essential Functions:

  • Reads and interprets assembly drawings, parts lists, operation sheets, manufacturing procedures and visual aids.

  • Assembles various mechanical devices on hydraulic and pneumatic valves using drawings, work instructions, blueprints or schematics.

  • Perform and document completed work via a traveler/routers. Ensures correct specification and function criteria are met per the manufacturing instructions. Presents objective evidence to Quality Control that tasks were completed to all specifications.

  • Mechanical assembly and testing to blueprints and ATP’s.

  • Performs testing on hydraulic and pneumatic test stands, electrical testing (Dialectical, Ohm Meter, DITMCO).

  • Meets productivity standards; completes work in timely manner; meets commitments.

  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.

  • Ability to use hand tools, such as screwdrivers, torque and standard hand wrenches, pliers, nut-drivers, power drivers, soldering iron or crimping device, etc

  • Performs visual and dimensional inspections for in-process assemblies and finished products.

  • Dexterity to handle small parts.

  • Follows industry standards in best practices for FOD, ESD, and material handling controls.

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

  • Must possess excellent analytical, organizational and communicational skills.

  • Ability to function under minimal supervision.

  • This position may require sitting for long periods of time.

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in the Aerospace industry.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of mechanical assembly with hydraulic and pneumatic experience.

  • Electrical experience helpful.

  • JST-001 certification a plus as well as with IPC-620 standards.
