Aerotek Diesel Mechanic in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description

As a dedicated mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors. This includes the ability to troubleshoot electrically and use system diagnoses on the trucks. You will be expected to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on various vehicles and equipment. Your tasks also include performing FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles, ensuring quality preventive maintenance inspections, addressing all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups timely and efficiently, diagnosing causes of malfunctions and performing repairs to manufacturer specifications. You will also need to display proficiency in electrical meter testing, knowledge of controls and electric (DC low voltage), electric motor knowledge (DC), and complete electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.

Hard Skills

  • Ability to use a Volt meter to electrical diagnose and repair in the truck

  • PM's on the trucks and trailers

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

You will be working in a diesel truck shop with multiple bays. Please note the environment can be loud and dirty, with temperature varying depending on the season. When fully staffed, you will be part of a team of 9 technicians. Shifts available are 2nd shift (either Sun-Wed 2:00pm - 12am or Sun - Thurs 3p-1130p). You will need to provide your own steel toes and tools. Uniforms and heavy tools will be provided by the company. The fleet primarily consists of Volvo trucks (75%) with the remainder being International and one Freightliner.
