DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Accounting Coordinator to join our team based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Summary: Computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  * Completes daily GL and Bank reconciliations.  * Running reports and researching variances.  * Reconciles daily deposits with bank reports.  * Processes adjustments/customer correspondence on all returned checks.  * Responsible for understanding and meeting daily, weekly, monthly performance metrics and standards; informing team lead and/or supervisor when issues arise that impact metrics  * Cross-Train on various job duties within the department  * Provide team support by assisting other departments/department members to ensure all work is completed on a daily basic and all metrics are met  * Perform other duties as directed by TransCore management

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Skills & Experience:  * Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.  * Solid keyboard skills.  * Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.  * Team player, strong organizational skills, proactive and conscientious.  * Accounting degree or high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping/office work experience.

Job Complexity: Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
