Thiel College seeks an Assistant Director of Track and Field/Head Cross Country Coach. The Assistant Director of Track and Field/Head Cross Country Coach will serve as both the Men's and Women's Head Coach for our Cross Country Programs. The Assistant Director of Track and Field/Head Cross Country Coach is responsible for all aspects of both the men's and women's intercollegiate Cross Country programs while holistically developing student-athletes to be leaders. The Assistant Director of Track and Field/Head Cross Country Coach will assist with Distance and Mid-Distance Runners during the Indoor and Outdoor seasons. In absence of Director of Track and Field & Cross Country, this position will serve as Interim Director of Track and Field. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Oversee the Men's and Women's Cross Country programs and supervise the day-to-day operations. • Teach/instruct student-athletes in their designated sport (primary duty of all coaches). • Monitor student-athletes academic performance and social behavior. • Recruit, retain, and graduate quality student-athletes for Thiel College and the athletic program. • Develop and implement a strategic recruiting plan - Consistently meet or exceed recruiting goals - Maintain target roster sizes. • Maintain allotted budget. • Coordinate with the Director of Athletics on fundraising activities. • Develop a competitive competition schedule in conjunction with the Director of Athletics. • Coordinate and implement community service activities. • Mentor and develop assistant coaches. • Serve as a positive role model for student athletes. • Serve on campus committees as needed. • Serve as a gameday administrator. • Collaborate with other coaches and athletics staff to help monitor all Thiel College athletic facilities as directed by the Director of Athletics. • Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, the Presidents Athletic Conference, and Thiel College. • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Applicants are required to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent. A master's degree is preferred. 3-4 years of coaching experience at an NCAA program is desired. Competence in athletics management and leadership, an understanding of student athlete development, and a deep commitment to the values the College promotes.
