About the position:

Performs a variety of production and/or light custodial tasks. Performs work under limited supervision Handles a variety of complex issues and refers more complex issues to others. Picks up parts and distributes between multiple Raymond locations within NY State. Will frequently drive box truck to delivery material between sites. Will frequently work independently but will also assist others with equipment relocations or other miscellaneous projects.

You will:

  • Follow clearly defined schedule and performs a variety of non-complex, repetitive driving and/or custodial tasks.
  • Perform a variety of tasks that may include, but not limited to:

  • General Building maintenance

  • Light custodial duties
  • Lead Snow removal contact for sidewalks and entrances at multiple sites
  • Complete regular inspections / maintenance
  • Mow grass, trim trees, clean-up site, as requested.
  • Clean windows
  • Move product within plant and to various supplies or customers.
  • Heavy lifting
  • Obtain a forklift license
  • Operating equipment as required in functional area
  • Removing or disposing materials/chemicals
  • Assists in the installation and set-ups for events/ Picks up and delivers materials as needed to facilitate all Raymond events.
  • Interface with employees from multiple departments and/or product lines over routine and non-routine matters.
  • Visually inspect equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance work.
  • Keep accurate records of task completion through paperwork and/or computer.
  • Work from a variety of instructions, which may include: standard work, engineering drawings, layouts, manuals, color charts, etc.
  • Maintain satisfactory levels of work supplies and may assist in ordering supplies for area of responsibility.
  • Schedule routine maintenance and repairs on company van and truck.
  • Notify management concerning need for major repair or additions to company delivery van, trucks or facility equipment.
  • Assist in coordinating efforts on major projects.
  • Train lower-level team members.
  • Follow standard work to complete tasks.
  • Support the Company’s 5S program in an effort to maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat, organized manner.
  • Make recommendations to change outdated or ineffective procedures through the kaizen process.
  • Support Toyota Production System (TPS) driven processes and activities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to others. May act as lead.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
  • Regular attendance in the workplace is required for interaction with others and to support teamwork.

About the schedule:

This position is 1st shift and will work 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

About the work environment:

Works in a factory setting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with Company policy. For forklift operation, required to obtain and maintain Forklift Driver Certification through the Company and operate the forklift in a safe manner. Required to stand for long periods of time and manually lift/move/manipulate parts up to 50 pounds or use cranes/hoists to move heavier materials. Temperatures may be extreme; elevated in the summer, cold in the winter. Needs to be able to cope with stressors and demands that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable and defined levels of performance are maintained.

About you:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Two or more years of related experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • CDL-B License is required
  • Understands and applies a comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Needs to have good communication skills to assist others on special projects.
  • Needs to have a high level of attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic ability to read, utilize a computer, comprehend and follow simple instructions and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Thorough knowledge of production and/or facilities processing techniques, materials, tools, machines and equipment relative to area of specialization.

It would be great if you had:

  • Haz Mat Endorsement on CDL

About the total compensation package:

Wage - $19.19 - $23.80 per hour. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
