Location/Division Specific Information

  • Manufacturing Technician I, Component Prep, 2nd Shift (2:30PM-11PM)

  • This position is based out of our Grand Island, NY site within BioProduction Group.

A day in the Life:

  • Use of equipment that includes mixers, mills, blenders, pumps, filtration systems, packaging, and laboratory equipment.

  • Weigh, measure, and check raw materials with the assistance of a computer interface to assure batches manufactured contain accurate materials and quantities.

  • Calibrate and operate manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment.

  • Follow all safe practices, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions in controlled environments up to and including classified clean rooms.

  • Complete and maintain compliance with the Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements.

  • Complete routine or standardized tasks related to manufacturing of cell culture media. Perform related duties as required to meet the business goals and requirements.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

  • 1+ years Prior experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice environment is preferred.

  • 1+ years Prior experience following Good Documentation Practices is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • General understanding of technical, mechanical, and machinery equipment is preferred. Basic computer skills are required.

  • Strong attention to detail for instructions and documentation while maintaining quality output.

  • Perform basic math, verbal, written, and oral communication with team.

  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and move up to 50 pounds and may be required to stand for extended periods of time while performing duties. Ability to squat, bend, and reach different items to complete assigned tasks.

  • Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including work uniform, steel toe shoes, hair net, beard guard (when required), safety glasses, and gloves. PPE may also include a bump cap, face shield, and full/half-face respirators.

  • Availability to work overtime and flexible shift patterns.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $15.00–$21.08.
