Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled MEP Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and managing mechanical systems within buildings, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with design regulations. This role involves collaboration with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into building designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical systems for new and existing buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems1.

• Review and analyze specifications and designs of mechanical systems to ensure they meet safety and performance requirements2.

• Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate mechanical systems into the overall building design1.

• Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish construction specifications2.

• Develop mechanical drawings and specifications using CAD or other design software2.

• Inspect and supervise the installation of mechanical systems to ensure they are installed correctly and functioning optimally2.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise with the mechanical systems during construction or operation2.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in mechanical engineering to continuously improve system efficiency and sustainability2.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field3.

• 3-8 years of experience in designing HVAC systems for commercial, retail, residential, and institutional projects4.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software3.

• Familiarity with NYC Codes and LL 97 is preferred4.

• Excellent spoken and written English skills4.

• NYS licensure as a PE and LEED AP desirable4.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail4.

• Ability to manage the design process and coordination of plumbing, sprinkler, and fire alarm trades4.

• Significant client contact by email and telephone4.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86/hr.
