Citigroup VP, Finance Reporting Senior Manager in Getzville, New York

The Finance Reporting Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for managing the Product Accounting team for Markets Controllers with a focus on data integrity and results globally. The position includes lead analyst for overseeing product processor governance for various products (securities, loans, deposits, secured finance transactions, etc.). The lead role includes oversight and governance of financial reporting while reducing regulatory risk of the entities under their ownership. The complex role also includes managing annual external audits, ensuring integrity of the books and records while working closely with key stakeholders across the organization on corporate initiatives and strategic implementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee closing the books and sub-ledgers, including passing appropriate required adjustment entries and consolidating financials at the end of each accounting period

  • Lead and direct a team of professionals and manage complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas

  • Communicate with peers within the firm and externally, including auditors

  • Deliver a full range of services to one or more businesses or geographic regions

  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within Finance and how they interact in order to achieve the goals of the Finance department

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Ability to manage teams.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

  • Ability to work with counterparts in different areas of organization

  • Ability to manage workstreams in parallel and multitask

  • Proven organization and time management skills

  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred
