Track Laborer

Position Summary: A Track Laborers responsibilities include general labor duties including, but not limited to track construction and maintenance, equipment and tool maintenance, inventory, and clean-up of work area grounds and company assets. Must have a working knowledge of hand tools and be able to work in adverse seasonal conditions. General duties include:

Operate general hand tools

Operate powered railroad tools and specialized railroad tools

Track construction and maintenance

Comply with railroad safety and operating rules

Other duties may be assigned Job requirements:

18 years of age or older

High School Diploma or GED

Ability to work from written and verbal instructions

Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, adhere to work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules

Valid drivers license, CDL preferred but not required or willingness/ability to obtain CDL

Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends and overtime as required

Must be able to work in varying weather conditions

Must be able to submit to and be able to pass a drug screen

Maintain a good attendance record

Must be able to pass a background check

Must be willing to wear required personal protective equipment Physical requirements:

Must be willing and capable to work any shift, including weekends

Must be able to stand and walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods of time

Must be able to carry and lift 30 lbs. frequently and push and pull 75 lbs. frequently

Must be able to carry and lift occasionally 50-90 lbs., push and pull 250 lbs. and grip 100 lbs.
