JOB SUMMARY:
This position will provide counseling (in-person and virtually) to women and families coping with Breast Cancer. It will also provide on-site weekly crisis intervention, concrete services, advocacy and patient navigation for patients served at clinics and at other hospitals as directed As well as providing consultation and education to health care providers and facilitating support group(s) (in-person and virtually) in English and/or Spanish. This is a grant funded position.
SALARY INFORMATION:
In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $52,000 - $62,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Director, Breast Cancer Program
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :
Provide culturally sensitive psychosocial support (in-person and virtually) to clientele.
Collaborate with community agencies and staff.
Provide consultation and education to hospital personnel and other health care professionals.
Collaborate on grant applications and complete reports.
Participate in community events (in-person and virtually).
Represent the Adelphi Program at legislative visits with elected officials.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Strong clinical skills.
Knowledge of breast cancer and/or oncology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of and experience working with underserved communities.
Ability to prioritize workload.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Internet and E-mail.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
M.S.W., L.M.S.W is required.
SIFI certification is preferred.
At least two years of job-related social work experience is required.
Spanish/English fluency is preferred.
