JOB SUMMARY:
Independently performs and manages a variety of functions to assist with outreach, recruitment, enrollment and attendance of Education Services programs. Focuses on overall program compliance and recruitment, selection, and enrollment process for Head Start. Handles highly confidential professional and consumer information. Carries out duties in accordance with policies, regulations and program performance standards.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates outreach in the community and attends outreach opportunities. Independently performs information sessions including evenings and weekends.
Responsible for recruitment, screening and selection of participants according to program requirements utilizing data base.
Ensures accurate up to date applications, enrollment records, waiting lists and class information. Follows up with waitlisted applicants to update status and complete applications as needed.
Facilitates annual review and update of the ERSEA plan, policies and procedures.
Maintains the database(s) for enrollment and reporting purposes; maintains children’s files.
Acts as Policy Council support; works with Director and Health and Family ; oversees meeting preparation, takes/prepares/distributes minutes; facilitates meetings as needed
Answers incoming calls and assists callers in accessing services or connecting with appropriate staff.
Works collaboratively with School Districts regarding UPK enrollment; receives information, audits, prepares class list and ensures UPK application packets are submitted timely and accurately.
Coordinates and documents public relations endeavors and publications.
Acts as Facebook administrator for Education Services centers/programs.
Revises and/or develops recruitment flyers and brochures.
Initiates on going contact with community, media and Human Service agencies to ensure access to programs and services, develops and implements a comprehensive marketing plan. Represents Education on OCO PR committee.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Must be able to work with families in a supportive, non-judgmental manner.
Must exhibit professionalism and work cooperatively with staff, parents and community.
Must have good organizational skills and be able to work independently.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft suite, data bases and social media.
Must possess a valid New York State Driver's license with driving record within agency policy and have access to a reliable vehicle for transporting clients.
Must have acceptable physical health to carry out the position, including the ability to lift 30 lbs. and enough physical mobility to carry out job functions including standing for several hours.
Must possess the Family Development Credential, or successfully obtain.
Must possess ERSEA certification or successfully obtain.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in related field; and related experience in recruitment, publicity or sales; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
