Adecco US, Inc. Software Development Engineer in Test in Fort Lee, New Jersey

Our client is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their dynamic team. As an SDET, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of their software applications. You will be responsible for end-to-end testing, including Android testing, Cypress testing, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements and specifications.

  • Executing test cases and documenting test results to identify and track software defects and inconsistencies.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and designers, to understand project requirements and provide input on testability and quality.

  • Participating in requirement and design reviews to provide feedback and ensure testability and quality of the software.

  • Performing both manual and automated testing to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.

  • Writing and maintaining automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.

  • Investigating and reproducing reported issues and effectively communicating them to the development team.

  • Monitoring and tracking defects to ensure their resolution in a timely manner.

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the QA process and best practices.

  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in software testing methodologies and technologies.

  • Experience with Test Automation Frameworks: Proficiency in developing and maintaining test automation frameworks tailored to the specific needs of the organization.

  • Understanding of Software Development Processes: Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban, and the ability to collaborate effectively with development teams.

  • Knowledge of Version Control Systems: Experience working with version control systems such as Git or SVN to manage test scripts and test data.

  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating automated tests into the build and deployment processes.

  • Performance Testing: Experience in performance testing methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure software scalability and responsiveness.

  • Security Testing: Awareness of security testing principles and techniques to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the security of software applications.

  • Collaborative Skills: Ability to work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to identify testing requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as an SDET or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

  • Experience with manual and automated testing of web and mobile applications.

  • Proficiency in using test management tools and bug tracking systems.

  • Solid understanding of agile development methodologies.

  • Experience with test automation frameworks, such as Selenium or Appium.

  • Familiarity with programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with API testing and tools like Postman.

  • Experience with database testing and SQL queries.

  • Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery pipelines.

  • Experience with performance and security testing.
