The Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team at the South Mountain Secure Treatment Unit. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Psychological Services Specialist, you will facilitate the psychological component of the rehabilitation and social development of court-committed adjudicated delinquent residents. You can expect to prepare written clinical evaluations on each resident in your assigned area using information obtained through file reviews, clinical interviews, specialized assessments, and consultations with program staff. You will coordinate mental health services, make recommendations for special programming, and assist in treatment plan development in order to provide individualized clinical treatment services. In this position, you will perform tasks in the care, counseling, and treatment of residents who have sex offense issues and issues with substance abuse and dependency. Additionally, you will participate in professional training by attending in-service and out-service training to maintain constant professional growth and development.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are as follows, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. Four (4) shifts: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM One (1) shift: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM You may have to work overtime as needed. You may have to travel as needed. This may change based on operational needs. FREE PARKING! Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $64,959 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A master's degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a satisfactory completion of a  medical examination and a drug screening test. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
