Mechanic Shop Helper - DF23602

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Job Summary:   Sweeping Corp of America seeking a mechanically inclined Shop Helper. This is a career entry level job that will support mechanical technicians by retrieving parts for repair and other duties as assigned. This is a great position for someone interested in getting into equipment and diesel repair.

Job Location and Shift/Hours: 10 Kresge Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030 - Hours; 12:00pm - 8:30pm.

Job Responsibilities:   * Pays attention to details and observe safety precautions.  * Perform basic mechanical tasks. Example; change tires, change oil, grease truck.  * Assist senior mechanics with advanced repairs.  * Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:    * Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.  * Consistent attendance.  * Use all required PPE and work safely   * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.  * Ability to stand for a full shift in addition to walking, climbing stairs and bending as required.  * Moderate lifting - no greater than 50 lbs.; moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping.  * Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.  * May be exposed to solvents, chemicals, and refuse.  * May be exposed to other risks associated with working around machines, tools, and trucks-CDL related.

Preference will be given to applicants who (not required):    * Have a desire to learn and advance into a mechanic position.   * Recent or currently enrolled in Diesel Tech or related classes.  * Mechanical aptitude and industry experience preferred.
