10 Full Time Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 08/05/2024 - 10/25/24.

Harvest worker will pick crops including buy not limited to apples and peaches from trees for fresh market and processing. Spot and/or strip pick fruit based on seasonal need. Ensure removal of all fruit meeting picking requirements from trees. Gently snap fruit off of the tree with pads of fingers and palm of hand to avoid stem pulls, punctures, bruising, or other damage. Carefully place fruit into picking container that is worn over shoulder with straps. Empty filled picking container weighing up to 40 lbs into bulk field bin, avoiding bruising of fruit. Harvest worker must be able to identify and discard/avoid severely damaged or decaying fruit. Must keep bins free of limbs, leaves, and other foreign matter. Must follow supervisor's instructions on color, size, or othe reuirements of harvested fruit. Must be able to differentiate between colors and fruit varieties accurately. Harvesting specifics can change daily depending on different orchards, varieties of crops, or market conditions. Workers will be expected to conform to specific instructions given for each fruit variety in any given orchard.
Supervisors may issue written disciplinary notice to workers with a significant number of culls, bruised, or damaged fruit. Repeated failure to follow quality control instructions may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. When necessary, workers are required to handle and pick up ladders up to 14ft in length and weighing 25-40 pounds. Workers will place ladders firmly against or within tree in a secure position so as not to break limbs or knock off fruit and to prevent slipping and falling. Primary duties will be harvesting fruit, however other duties may be assigned including picking roots, rocks, and other debris, irrigation, ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, clearing, and cleaning of orchard work site. Worker will be required to lift, carry, and load/unload products or supplies. Other duties may be assigned in order to accommodate restrictions acquired curing contract period. employer expects workers to work with or without supervision at such tasks. Work is done in the orchard for long periods of time in occasional seasonal hot or cold weather. Workers must be on their feet standing, bending over, kneeling, stooping, and climbing up and down ladders for periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking on uneven terrain. Workers failing to produce a sufficient number of piece rate units, equivalent to 5 bins per 7 hour day or 125 bushels per day on average, to earn the Adverse Effect Wage Rate (AEWR) for all hours worked during a pay period will be paid on an hourly basis at the AEWR for that pay period. Workers paid on an hourly basis who fail to perform their duties in a timely and proficient manner will be provided up to three warnings and will be coached/instructed on working faster and more efficiently. Worker may be terminated upon issuance of third warning. Employer retains the right to discharge an obviously unqualified worker, malingerer, or recalcitrant worker who is physically able but does not demonstrate the willingness to perform the work necessary to grow a premium crop.
