Job Title: Saw Operator
Job Description
The Saw Operator will be responsible for determining processing specifications such as materials, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences. The role includes reviewing work orders, instructions, or other written specifications and selecting material to be saw cut according to processing picker instructions while verifying size and grade. The Saw Operator will position workpieces for processing, operate a combination of different machines, and use gauges, calipers indicators, or rulers for measurement. Installation and alignment of specified cutting blades or other fixtures in the saw using gauges, templates, and adjusting controls to set cutting speeds and feed rates are also part of the job. The role requires problem diagnosis and necessary adjustments, coordination and execution of material handling to be processed including operation of overhead crane, and examining finished workpieces for conformance to quality standards.
Saw / band saw cutting experience required
Determining processing specifications
Reading and understanding work orders
Operating a combination of different machines
Using measuring tools such as gauges, calipers indicators, or rulers
Installing and aligning cutting blades or other fixtures
Adjusting machine controls
Problem diagnosis and making necessary adjustments
Read blueprints
