New Enterprise Stone & Lime Company Quality Control Trainee in Everett, Pennsylvania

The Quality Control (QC) Trainee will assist the Quality Control team in performing inspections, testing products, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The QC Trainee will support the documentation of quality issues, help implement corrective actions, and maintain QC records, while gaining experience and training in quality control procedures and industry standards to become a qualified QC Technician. The Trainee will work under the guidance of an experienced and certified QC Technician as part of their training plan.

QC Trainee - What You Will Do?

  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet established quality standards.
  • Record and report any discrepancies, defects, or deviations from quality standards during inspections and testing processes.
  • Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions to address identified quality issues.
  • Accurately maintain and update quality control records, including test results, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports.
  • Participate in internal audits and quality control assessments to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Learn to operate and maintain QC equipment and instruments under supervision, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.
  • Learn to complete all necessary documentation/record keeping requirements for PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and NESL.
  • Learn required measurements and test data to ensure all products are made in accordance with project specifications such as PennDOT, PA Turnpike or other governmental agencies.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as production and sales, to resolve quality-related issues and improve processes.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and quality compliance standards within the QC department.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Obtain or work toward obtaining required certifications.
  • Comprehensive training and development in all areas of quality control across various operational areas:
    • Quality Control Lab:
      • Develop proficiency in analyzing aggregate gradations, specific gravities, mix designs, and adhering to all testing requirements.
      • Work diligently toward achieving state required QC certification(s).
    • Quarries:
      • Learn particulars of mining operations to ensure ideal efficiency and safety.
    • Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA):
      • Gain comprehensive understanding of HMA operations, including production processes and quality control measures.
      • Achieve understanding in HMA product specifications, mix formulations, and applications across various projects.
    • Concrete:
      • Gain comprehensive understanding of concrete operations, including production processes and quality control measures.
      • Achieve Understanding in concrete product specifications, mix formulations, and applications across various projects.
  • Learn more about the Materials & Aggregate Industry in PA

Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong desire to learn and develop a career in quality control within the construction materials industry.
  • Basic understanding of construction materials is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to following established procedures.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external teams.
  • Willingness to take direction and learn from experienced technicians.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
  • Ability to acquire NECEPT aggregate certification within 18 months of employment. Additional certifications and training programs will be available over the course of employment.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate across the business.
  • Ability t lift up to 75lbs.
