UPMC Behavioral Health Therapist Associate (Masters Level-Casual) in Erie, Pennsylvania

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbors Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) is an innovative 8-bed facility providing vital support for individuals in crisis, offering a compassionate alternative to inpatient behavioral health care! Our dedicated team consists of registered nurses, CRNPs/PAs, skilled therapists, technicians, and a discharge specialist- all working together to provide comprehensive care. At Safe Harbor, we offer essential services including medication management, personalized therapy (both group and individual), and seamless connections to follow-up care, ensuring each individual receives the support they need to thrive!

As a member of our CRU team, you'll play a key role in supporting consumers, helping them navigate their recovery journey. This is a causal position, with weekend shifts from 9am-2p, and rotating holidays. If you have a master's degree and prior experience in behavioral health or crisis care settings, we'd love to meet you! Experience working with local and community resources is a big plus, as we believe in the power of community partnerships.

Responsibilities:

Role & Supervision:

  • Collaborate with MHP/Supervisor to define role, intervention, and treatment plans.

  • Conduct assessments, screenings and document clinical activities

Client Engagement & Therapy:

  • Engage clients, address barriers, and provide therapy and education.

  • Involve families in treatment & coordinate care with the team.

Documentation & Coordination:

  • Maintain accurate case records and develop provisional diagnoses.

  • Ensure continuity of care by coordinating with the treatment and community supports.

Quality & Performance:

  • Participate in quality improvement activities and perform duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social Work, counseling, education in school counseling, or related field required.

  • Completion of a human services related internship/practicum or 1 year of relevant human services experience.

  • Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
