Grower's Assistant

<p>Nanticoke Gardens is seeking a full-time, Grower's Assistant around our greenhouses and who will be responsible for aiding the owners, growers, greenhouse manager and other assistants with the following tasks:

<li>Transplanting and planting, labeling, staking, pinching/pruning

<li>Watering - either by hand or through various watering systems

<li>Moving and spacing plants

<li>Cleaning work area, sanitizing tools

<li>Assisting growers in integrated pest management practices

<li> Filling pots with soil, watering plants (annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetable plants and hanging baskets), mixing fertilizer, moving plants, taking cuttings, stripping cuttings, sticking cuttings, quality control to ensure plants have roots before they ship, loading shipping carts, loading trucks, cleaning work area, facility maintenance, unloading trucks, transplanting, driving tractor, preparing field, harvesting, loading and unloading extracting equipment.

<li>Other duties, as assigned

<li>This is an entry level position with opportunity for growth and to learn a great deal about plant production and the business of a greenhouse operation.

<p>Nanticoke Gardens is a small but growing, locally owned and operated business in Endicott, NY.

<p>Job Type: Full-time

<p>Requirements:

<li>Three months experience of the duties mentioned <li>Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
<li>Exposure to extreme temperatures
<li>Extensive pushing/pulling/sitting/walking <li>Frequent stooping, and repetitive movements

<p> 15.50 to 18.50 per hour
