Atalanta Corporation Business Development Manager in Elizabeth, New Jersey

Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge for assigned products, and support the selling effort by providing product expertise on assigned products at sales calls, trade shows, training sessions and product demonstrations. Develop strategic and tactical plans that meet product sales and profit objectives, including collaborating with the sales force to identify growth opportunities within each sales region for assigned products and visiting customers, distributors, and brokers to support the sales effort. Prepare specific product reports with utilization of M3 capabilities from Infor Analytics systems. Explore new product opportunities through proper research, analysis and negotiations, and understand competitive landscape by category and channel. Continuously rationalize product portfolio based on thorough analysis of P&L. Conduct quality assurance reviews on food safety and supplier corrective action measures with international manufacturers. Collaborate with the marketing department in the development of POS, presentation, and sales material for the assigned products. Coordinate marketing support, promotional allowances, demo funds and more for assigned products. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships as it relates to business development, and coordinate supplier support. Conduct materials replenishment planning analysis and conclusion-based action objectives reviews. Manage timelines on commercialization of products to market, working closely with supply chain team on new item launches and inventory issues.Requirements:Bachelor’s in Food Science or closely related field, plus 1 year of experience in position offered or as Business Development Coordinator for a food importer.**All required experience must have included conducting sales and negotiations and collaborating with sales team to boost product sales; analyzing market conditions and performing market research to inform proactive decision-making; applying understanding of food sciences to develop product solutions that meet customer demands; communicating continuously with key stakeholders including suppliers, sales team, inventory, and logistics; capturing and analyzing cost components of importing consumable products, including import duties, ocean freight rates, and outbound and inbound transit; using enterprise resource planning software to study and monitor inventory status, sales and purchase data, and lot specific information; and applying deep understanding of agricultural product characteristics, including harvest seasons and regional variations, to ensure proper storage. Approximately 25% domestic travel required.This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our Elizabeth, NJ office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location.#LI-DNI
