Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Mechanic Supervisor in Eighty Four, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4508543 THE POSITION The Department of Transportation is currently on the lookout for a skilled Mechanic Supervisor to oversee a team of licensed and trained automotive and diesel mechanics. This position involves supervising individuals who are responsible for conducting a wide range of tasks, including analytical assessments, preventative maintenance, and repairs on a diverse fleet of construction equipment, trucks, automobiles, and hand tools. As part of this role, you will be responsible for assessing and determining the necessary repairs needed for equipment, as well as overseeing the workforce to ensure these repairs are carried out effectively. Additionally, you will be evaluating the proficiency of the team members under your supervision, providing recommendations for training programs to enhance their skills, and identifying opportunities for enhancing overall performance. This position will allow you to showcase your abilities and expertise in managing equipment repairs and optimizing the performance of the workforce under your guidance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Eighty Four, Pennsylvania. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a Pennsylvania Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tank Vehicle (N) Endorsement. This position requires possession of an active Class 7 Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification.

Additional Requirement: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
