Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Marketing Manager to lead marketing efforts across our news organization. The position will help drive, direct, and manage - in conjunction with the Senior Director Acquisition & Retention Marketing - the marketing and brand strategy for News 12 and all of its digital and related properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in the linear television and/or OTT space, digital marketing, brand management, and audience growth, and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing marketing campaigns that drive tune-in, acquisition and retention. The Marketing Manager will work closely with the newsrooms, editorial, data & analytics, sales, and senior management to elevate the brand and expand our reach across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies that promote News 12 and its related properties.
  • Manage marketing campaigns across owned & operated assets, partner platforms, digital, social, email newsletters, and paid advertising.
  • Lead the development of marketing tactics from concept to execution including all on-air, digital, social and partner specific tactics.
  • Write creative briefs, review and guide asset development with clear and constructive feedback and socialize deliverables for approvals.
  • Collaborate with data & analytics team to analyze audience insights and trends to identify growth opportunities and improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Work closely with editorial teams and newsrooms to ensure marketing efforts align with editorial goals and content.
  • Coordinate marketing events and promotions within our communities.
  • Work closely with Optimum marketing teams to identify mutually beneficial synergies and collaborations.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external agencies, influencers, and media outlets to amplify brand exposure.
  • Oversee market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and audience preferences.
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, adjusting strategies to optimize results.
  • Responsible for News 12 sales materials; create presentation materials, including campaign recaps and performance.
  • Oversee marketing department budget, work with finance on monthly forecasts, ensure all spending is cost-effective and delivers measurable ROI.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on digital media and audience development.
  • Experience in the news industry or with media companies is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics, social media insights, etc.).
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google (Docs, Sheets & Slides) suite of products. Experience with project management and AI platforms preferred.
  • Must be able to travel between Newsrooms on a weekly basis.

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $102,816.00-$168,912.00/year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
