The General Maintenance Worker performs repair and maintenance on a variety of equipment, systems and structures; including lab equipment, grounds machinery, etc. Reports directly to the Foreman and may be assigned to support various trades’ responsibilities as required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing various maintenance services under the direction of the Foreman.

• Diagnoses and repairs various mechanical and plumbing equipment.

• Performs minor carpentry, masonry, and structural work.

• Performs repairs to plumbing systems, roof and area drains, door systems and other general components of buildings.

• Repairs and maintains pumps, grounds equipment, air compressors, and miscellaneous mechanical items.

• Repairs lab and lab support equipment.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school Diploma

• Minimum three (3) years of mechanical and electrical maintenance helper experience within past three (3) years.

• Completion of technical school or comparable training such as military and industry programs is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to determine work methods to accomplish assignments.

• Perform work in accordance with applicable building codes and government and Ajanta rules and regulations.

• Must have multi-skill experience

• Ability to read, write, and speak in English
