Aerotek Maintenance Technician in EAST SYRACUSE, New York

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance primarily for material handling equipment, conveyors, electrical and mechanical equipment, motor controls, and PLCs. While no in-house maintenance support exists, this role will serve as the primary maintenance provider for all breakdowns and PM. Tasks may also include general handyman work such as changing lights. The position requires travel within a two-hour radius, primarily between Syracuse and Binghamton.

Hard Skills

  • Experience with conveyor systems

  • Knowledge of industrial controls

  • Ability to troubleshoot from a blueprint back to the processor

  • Industrial electrical 480V

  • Understanding of motor controls, mechanical and electrical maintenance

  • Industrial 3 phase

  • Fabrication/welding experience

Soft Skills

  • Good insight on preventative maintenance (PM)

  • Ability to assess the condition of mechanical components like bearings

  • Flexibility in performing various maintenance tasks

  • Team-oriented

  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 960 Hour(s).

Work Site

This is a service role traveling to different client sites around the Upstate NY area.

Work Environment

This position is part of a team that supplements the maintenance staff for major industrial and package handling companies. Reporting to the Service Manager, the work culture emphasizes a team-oriented and 'can-do/will-do' attitude.
