Key Objective(s):

The main purpose of the Operations Maintenance Technician is:

• To ensure guests at American Dream have a positive shopping and entertainment experience. This position is accountable for maintaining all areas of facility in good repair (interior and exterior).

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Ensure the overall safety of the immediate work area as well as surrounding areas

• Work well with other team members, especially on needed projects

• Assist in sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and clearning designated areas as needed

• Maintain display beds, display containers, tropical plants, trees and shrubs by watering, dusting, planting, transplanting and cleaning debris from areas

• Aid in keeping areas free from pests, using organic products and hard spraying trees

• Aid in plant disease by using chemical fertilizers as needed

• Pruning trees and shrubs as needed

• Operate electric powered industrial vehicles

• Provides support and assistance to members and other departments as requested

• Regular, reliable and consistent attendance

• Additional duties as assigned.

  PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent

• Degree in Horticulture or equivalent work experience, preferred

• 1-2 years of outdoor gardening or interior plant maintenance

• Understanding of Pest management

• Ability to use hand tools, such as pruner, saw, trowel, etc.

• Must be able to safely perform the physical tasks involved with lifting, sweeping, watering, driving and operating power and equipment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, holidays based on company needs

• Must be able to operate high lift equipment up to heights of 40 feet

• Perform repetitive motion-Frequently 80% of time

• Reach at or above shoulder level-Frequently, 80% of time

• Handle larger items, such as trash bags/containers-Frequently, 90% time

  Physical Job Requirements:

• Perform repetitive motion - occasionally 25% of time

• Stand and move - frequently 90% of time

• Reach at chest level - occasionally 25% of time

• Reach above or below shoulder level - occasionally 25% of time

• Kneel and bend - occasionally 25% of time.

• Stoop/Squat - occasionally 20% of time.

• Lift/carry up to 10 lbs - occasionally 25% of time.

• Lift/carry 25 – 50 lbs – occasionally - 25% of time

• Lift/carry up to 75 pounds - infrequently 5 % of time

• Push/pull - occasionally 45% of time

• Able to work at heights between 10 to 35 ft - infrequently 10% of time
