KEY OBJECTIVE(S):

The main purpose of the Merch Ops Team Lead is:

• To responsibly direct the daily activities of Retail Distribution Center Reps in both front of house and back of house merchandising, pricing, and inventory activities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for opening and closing store locations

• Assist in managing daily merchandising and warehouse operations

• Perform the role of Retail Distribution Center Rep

• Assign daily task and projects to Retail Distribution Center Reps

• Ensure there is a positive presence in the distribution center

• Train new Retail Distribution Center Rep on receiving, shipping, tagging, inventorying and merchandising products

• Responsible for receiving new merchandise

• Verifying SKU numbers, price, and quantity, communicate with warehouse any discrepancies

• Monitor store merchandise inventory, work with Supervisors on requested product from the Warehouse or Vendors

• Ensure backroom and is neatly organized to maximize stocking capabilities

• Monitor shrinkage control by being aware of the inventory levels, stock and sales floor and ensuring proper training of team members

• Assist supervisor by resolving minor team member issues, ensure breaks are taken on time, report violations of grooming standards and other policies and procedures

• Present positive and professional attitude towards guest, associates and fellow Team Leads

• Ensure overall cleanliness and safety of the work area

• Other duties as assigned

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 2-3 years retail experience

• Previous leadership experience preferred

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with sales associates and guests

• Ability to resolve and remedy guest complaints, concerns, and questions

• Basic computer knowledge

• Strong verbal and written communication

• Previous cash register and guest services experience

• Strong listening and communication skills

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Stand/move about – Frequently, 90% of time

• Kneel/bend – periodically, 30% of time

• Reach at or above shoulder level – frequently, 50% of time

• Reach at or below shoulder level – frequently, 50% of time

• Handle large items such as boxes and packages – periodically, 30% of time

• Perform repetitive motion – periodically, 30% of time

• Stoop/squat – periodically, 40% of time.

• Lift up to 30lbs –occasionally, 30% of time

• Lift up to 50 lbs – infrequently, 10% of time
