Job Title: Food Scientist

Job Description

This role focuses primarily on the R&D Food Science department but will be a shared resource across multiple groups. You will work on ingredient types such as sugars and sweeteners that apply across multiple brands and identify new flavor trends. You will manage multiple projects, ensuring compliance and driving product development, with a significant impact on product quality and market success.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and development on various ingredient types such as sugars and sweeteners.

  • Identify new flavor trends and apply them across multiple brands.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance and driving product development.

  • Perform bench work and create prototypes/pilot plant samples.

  • Analyze data and present findings to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and market success.

  • Maintain strong organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively manage tasks and projects.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the food industry, preferably with experience biscuits or chocolate.

  • Experience with formulations and R&D.

  • Proficiency in bench work and prototype creation.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent data analysis and presentation skills.

  • Effective communication and people skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong technical foundation with a high level of technical curiosity.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and manage complexity effectively.

  • No travel restrictions.

Work Environment

The work environment is a mix of office tasks and hands-on activities in pilot plants and factories. You will work both independently and with teams, focusing on quality and safety. Flex work hours are available, and there is an openness to teach and learn from each other. The role requires strong communication and coordination with various stakeholders. Typical hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, but flexibility is needed when running trials.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
