Job Title: Warehouse Associate

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will handle various tasks such as receiving and put-away of inbound freight, picking and shipping customer orders, and maintaining inventory standards. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory control and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and put-away all inbound freight according to procedural standards

  • Pick and ship customer orders as well as 3PL items according to procedural standards

  • Distribute products to and from manufacturing

  • FIFO/FEFO rotation

  • Ensure warehouse stocking area is clean and well-maintained in accordance with federal, state, and local safety rules

  • Receive and tag items in the warehouse with barcode labels, pallet tags, allergen stickers, etc.

  • Ensure stocked items are organized, allergen separated, and readily accessible

  • Examine items in inventory for defects and damage, and report this information to the Inventory Control Department

  • Report any quality defects of ingredients to the Quality Control team

Essential Skills

  • Forklift operation

  • Material handling

  • RF scanner usage

  • Inventory control

  • Shipping and receiving

  • Order picking

  • Knowledge of FIFO system

  • Ability to work off pick lists and system-driven reports

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

  • Ability to build excellent working relationships and work collaboratively

  • Self-motivation, confidence, energy, and ability to operate under pressure

  • Detail-oriented with standard mathematical acumen

  • Understanding and application of safety rules and regulations

  • Ability to use warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, hand trucks, and pallet jacks

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus

  • Ability to effectively use warehouse equipment

  • Standard ability to apply general mathematical concepts

Work Environment

The work environment includes dry, refrigerated, and freezer conditions. Employees regularly work near moving machinery and mechanical parts, sometimes in high places. Occasionally, there is exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate, but can occasionally be loud. Products manufactured in the facility may contain peanuts, milk, and tree nuts. The job requires standing and walking for the duration of the production shift, frequent sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching, and regular use of hands to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls. Employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.50/hr.
