Director, Human Resources (Internal Role)

We are currently seeking a Director of Human Resources that holds a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the HR team.

Opportunity Details
This critical role is responsible for leading and managing the HR team, providing guidance, coaching, and developmental opportunities. They establish clear goals and expectations for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations to ensure alignment with organizational objectives while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, strong analytical skills, an in-depth understanding of legal regulations, and the ability to handle competing priorities adeptly.

Essential Functions:

  1. Lead and manage the HR team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities. Set clear goals and expectations for team members and conduct regular performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  2. Along with VP of Human Resources, develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development.
  3. Ensure compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and local employment laws and regulations. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to maintain legal compliance and mitigate risks. Collaborate with Support Department leadership and Account Managers to update processes and procedures to meet industry compliance standards.
  4. Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related issues. Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management. Promote a positive work culture and employee morale.

Background We are Seeking
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and industry standards, including but not limited to EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, DOT and OSHA.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in HRIS (Human Resources Information System), and other relevant software applications.
  • A team player with a collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent) highly desirable.
