Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources the Training & Development Specialist will be responsible for creating, administering, and delivering training programs by assessing the needs of Zufall staff. The Training & Development Specialist will organize and administer training sessions using lectures, group discussions, team exercises, hands-on examples, and other formats. Training can be in the form of in-person group presentation, video, self-guided instructional manual, guest speakers/lecturers, or online application. Training may also be collaborative, which allows employees and/or managers to connect informally with experts, mentors, and colleagues, often through technology.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers and HR Generalists

  • Design and create training manuals, online learning modules, and course materials

  • Develops unique training programs to fulfill specific needs to maintain or improve job skills

  • Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials

  • Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos

  • Review training materials from a variety of sources and choose appropriate materials

  • Monitor and update current educational materials

  • Administer and update Annual Regulatory Refresher Courses in conjunction with SME

  • Deliver training to employees using a variety of instructional techniques

  • Assist in the evaluation of training programs

  • Assesses training materials prepared by instructors

  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback

  • Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment

  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements

  • Track and monitor CE courses

  • Performs other related duties as required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods

  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives

  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development

  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

  • Some travel may be required between sites and to off-site trainings

  • Learn and apply the trauma informed care principles with the scope of my position

    Education, Training, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field

  • Two years’ experience in a clinical setting preferred

  • Two years of training experience preferred

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR preferred

    As a condition of employment, we require that all staff are fully vaccinated against flu. Therefore, if hired during flu season (typically between September-May), all new employees need to be fully vaccinated against flu and are required to provide documentation of receiving flu vaccines upon hire.
