Howmet Aerospace Process Owner Engineer - Wax in Dover, New Jersey

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Scrap Review Technician to join our Casting Facility located in Dover, New Jersey.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsibility for ensuring that the Wax processes are performed in compliance with the methods, materials and equipment specifications as detailed in the Corporate Wax Manual (WM).

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.

  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.

  • Report all job related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).

  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.

  • Attend all EH&S training as required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Wax Process Owner will be responsible for ensuring that the wax process are performed in compliance with the methods, materials, and equipment specifications as detailed in the Corporate Wax Manual (WM) and associated MSAT.

  • The Wax Process Owner will approve all new and revised Activity Instructions and Job specific product criteria in the wax injection, pattern, and assembly manufacturing areas.

  • The Wax Process Owner will be responsible for determination of the root cause of any deviation from a critical process specification and for developing a timely and formal reaction plan which will include an escalating help chain system. The help chain system will include the notification of the local plant Engineering Manager and Plant Manager.

  • The Wax Process Owner will be a member of each wax injection die NPI meeting and will have primary responsibility of development of injection parameters.

  • The Wax Process Owner is responsible for reporting the critical process status on daily, weekly and monthly basis to the Corporate Wax Business Unit Process Owner through Leader standard work daily audit reports

  • The Wax Process Owner is responsible for daily interface and communication of issues with manufacturing, maintenance, facilities personnel responsible for the wax areas

  • The Wax Process Owner is responsible for understanding downstream product quality as it relates to wax and react appropriately to observed conditions.

  • The Wax Process Owner will foster continuous improvement utilizing Process management designed experiments, IPM and SPC, Cpk

  • The Wax Process Owner will be able to demonstrates considerable ingenuity and creativity while recognizing prudent risk.

  • The Wax Process Owner will routinely review process for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of approved process.

Basic Requirements:

  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

  • ​Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • B.S. in Engineering plus 2 years engineering experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • B.S. in Materials, Mechanical, Metallurgical Engineering

  • Previous experience in investment casting

  • Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment with strong organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis

  • Strong analytical abilities

  • Black belt/Green belt certification

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and create project plans. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the customer and/or management.
