DESCRIPTION OF WORK For this internship opportunity, all case activities take place under the supervision of a senior caseworker or casework supervisor. Training and supervision are accomplished through observation of caseworkers, detailed instructions, supervisory conferences, and the frequent review of work in progress. County Social Casework Interns will assist with assessment activities as well as the performance and provision of specific services from placement and counseling to specialized areas including home and money management, housing, employment, and child rearing. Work Schedule and Additional Information: 2024/2025 academic year Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:

Enrollment as a full time student in a bachelor's degree program in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related behavioral science, and completion of 75 credits, including completion of 15 credits in one of the listed majors.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
