Production Managers of Assembly Manage people to deliver electro mechanical assemblies in a timely manner with top quality. They must strive for Continuous Improvement to lower cost and raise efficiency. They may also become technical experts in their areas. They manage people but also have strong technical education and experience in all relevant types of electronics and electro-mechanical assemblies. They're often running the production area of adjacent managers if they are away.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Manage a staff to deliver product on time with good cost and quality.

· Evaluate current manufacturing practices, identify and manage improvements.

· Manage production schedules and coordinate services to maximize productivity.

· Enforce quality control to reduce waste.

· Improve the efficiency of each production process.

· Assign work to employees.

· Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free.

· Communicating regularly with customers and upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

· Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.

· Setting goals for each manufacturing team.

· Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.

· Ensuring adequate scheduling of staff.

· Manage all people issues A to Z including resolving concerns, conflict resolution, performance, attendance, tardiness, and rewards like raises or promotions.

Qualifications and Skills

· An Electrical Engineering degree with focus on electronics is recommended.

· Strong experience performing AND managing with Electro Mechanical assembly.

· Experience fabricating, troubleshooting and repairing circuit boards.

· Hands on knowledge and experience with all types of manual and automated soldering.

· Strong experience performing and managing testing all types of soldering, circuit boards and multiple electro- mechanical devices.

· Experience running wave and select solder equipment lead and lead free.

· Experience with SMT assembly including pick and place, reflow profiling, and x ray inspection.

· Top tier computer skills

· Strong proven leadership to manage and motivate others to optimal performance.

· Ability to adjust to changing resources and output requirements.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. They must be aware of a business's needs while making technical recommendations understandable.

· Good leadership skills to manage and implement productivity changes. The ability to develop relationships with coworkers is useful when making recommendations.

· Strong analytical skills to evaluate and interpret data. They also use these skills to create reports and describe the results to company decision-makers.

· Great eyesight correctable to 20/20.

Working Conditions

Fast paced, great variety of work with constant deadlines. Industrial environment with occasional dust, noise, etc., with protective equipment needed occasionally. Job may require lifting up to 50 lbs. Must have reliable transportation. Be willing and able to work overtime up to 15%. Able to work in an environment not air conditioned in summers.
