ZOBER INDUSTRIES INCORPORATED Machine Operator in Croydon, Pennsylvania

Basic Function

Operate various machines essential to the production of metal products or flow meters and flow technology. The position involves the operation of equipment necessary for the production of acrylic and glass flow meters or metal fabrication and is executed under the direction of the appropriate Manufacturing Supervisor.

Must be able to perform the following duties with proficiency:

· Determine the fixtures, attachments and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications, and mount them to machine prior to beginning cutting

· Discuss project specifications with engineers and supervisors to guarantee consistency between plans and products, and collaborate to modify designs when existing ones are not feasible

· Modify machine speed, tooling and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts

· Oversee cutting process, make adjustments throughout each job, catch mistakes as they happen and take necessary measures to eliminate errors

· Supervise machine temperatures, ensure that machine has adequate warm-up and cool-down time between jobs and replace coolant periodically

· Review and interpret cutting plans, enter them into control outlets before jobs and alter them to correct mistakes when necessary

· Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputation

· Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning and tool replacement

· The operation of all equipment required to manufacture items produced in-house as required by Production Control.

· Ability to operate standard shop area equipment including, but not limited to: assorted hand tools, air tools, fixtures, materials handling equipment, pallet/hand/fork trucks and building maintenance equipment.

· Ability to operate standard shop-type tools including, but not limited to: Drill presses, stampers, routers, grinders, sanders, presses and saws.

· Ability to operate Machine Tools including, but not limited to: lathes, mills, and grinders. Also ability to operate CNC equipment including programming and editing.

· Ability to read standard tools: micrometers, dial calipers, and thread micrometers. Also ability to read blueprints.

· Ability to use and set up sin bars and gage blocks. Ability to use thread gages.

· Appropriate interpersonal skills to allow for professional, courteous and productive interaction with subordinates, co-workers and supervisors.

· Ability to lift and transport equipment and materials up to forty pounds.

· Ability to operate all equipment in a safe and conscientious manner.

· Ensure quality standards are met to customer expectations and internal guidelines.

· Learn and apply continuous improvement philosophies including but not limited to Lean Manufacturing and the ITW Toolbox and drive and contribute to activities that support related projects.

· Learn 5S principles and techniques and actively apply them on a daily basis.

Qualifications/Education and Experience

High School diploma, technical school training or equivalent, and 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing.

Experience with Auto Cad and CAM package a plus.

Basic mathematical skills (trigonometry a plus) to maintain accurate counts and production records and a strong appreciation for procedure, processes and operational excellence. Moderate computer skills in order to look up drawings. Comfortable using tools and maintaining machinery.

Familiarity with programming and interpreting CNC software.
