The role:

The QC and Process Improvement Manager will be an integral part of our Quality team and will serve as a bridge to Production teams to ensure quality and efficiency throughout our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, and efficiency The candidate would be expected to comfortably operate in a high-energy, food manufacturing facility with equal time on the production floor and in an office environment. He/she should have prior experience with Food Quality systems, GMP compliance, Record Keeping protocols, Quality Control, and management of SOPs. This position reports to the Director for Food Safety and Quality Assurance.

What you'll do:

  • Quality Control: Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues

  • Own Customer Satisfaction metrics tied to operational drivers

  • Work collaboratively with operations managers and associates to update procedures

  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders in CX, Merchandising, and Sales to investigate exceptions and recurring defects

  • Ensure that all procedures established by FSQA programs are coherent with on-floor processes

  • Provide special attention to high priority processes such as: Allergen Control, GMP Audits, Support to Sanitation, Pre-Operational Checklists, Inventory Audits, Production Audits and Fulfillment Audits

  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures

  • Work closely with production managers to write and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions that aim to reduce error rates and efficiency

  • Develop 5S program and culture throughout the warehouse

  • Safety Compliance: Promote and ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures. Conduct safety risk assessments and implement safety improvements

  • Act as on-site leader in tracking and reducing safety incidents including leading safety committee

  • Set training cadence and curriculum for associates and managers in the warehouse such as safe lifting, first aid, among others

  • Training: Train production staff on new and revised processes. Develop training materials and conduct training sessions as needed

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for process engineering, areas of focus could include:

  • Process Optimization: Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement Implement process modifications to reduce waste, increase yield, and improve cycle times

  • Process Development: Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency and product quality

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for production issues. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to resolve technical problems

  • Project Management: Lead and manage process improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget

  • Manage and develop a team of 2-5 associates ensuring they are engaged and are growing professionally

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in process engineering or related discipline required

  • Experience working in a food manufacturing facility or related industry

  • 5+ years of relevant experience within the Quality Control/Safety/Manufacturing space

  • Experience with audit compliance and related audit requirements

  • Knowledge of OSHA protocols in a manufacturing environment

  • Self-motivated, proactive thinking with business acumen

  • Competency with Electronic Quality Management Systems (EQCMS) along with excellent organizational skills

  • Experience in Lean 6 Sigma, 5 Whys, Pareto analysis a plus

  • Ability to stand alone in challenging situations

  • Bilingual- Spanish is a plus!

Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experience and qualifications for the role. Base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include short & long term incentive compensation. In addition, employees are eligible for our standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and 401K match.
