The Category Lead -Trucking & Radiological Waste Disposal is responsible for developing and maintaining category management strategy and sourcing development for global logistics truckload and Less-Than-Truckload suppliers and radiological waste disposal services providers.This position will include external supplier liaison and working with various Westinghouse teams that execute deliveries with global truckload and less-than-truckload carriers as well as radiological waste disposal suppliers. This is a US Remote Role.
Your Day to Day: Negotiate prices and service delivery, and terms and conditions for logistics services. Develop and maintain category strategy and sourcing development for global logistics truckload and Less-Than-Truckload suppliers. Create and maintain supplier contracts. Maintain extensive category knowledge by researching and tracking industry trends, best practices, applicable indices, Manage Request for Quotations and LOA submissions for competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage, and increased overall productivity. Manage interface with transport suppliers. Responsible for development and implementation of comprehensive and cohesive communication plan with supply base as part of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM). Responsible for category risk assessment and inflation mitigation. Provide support to the Global Trade Compliance team for management of intermediary supplier approval process. Manage the spend reporting for all US and EMEA Logistics providers. Seek to achieve annual cost savings from suppliers to support yearly GSCS cost savings targets. Create and execute Global Logistics sourcing strategies to achieve business goals while driving continuous improvement with transport suppliers. Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams including the Nuclear Fuel Transport teams to maximize procurement and delivery effectiveness. Understand all the key operational & commercial elements of strategic and preferred suppliers to effectively communicate opportunities, challenges, and long-term plans and actions to internal stakeholders including project teams and Global Logistics leadership to support the Global Logistics procurement strategy. Maintain good working relationships with new and existing suppliers. Assist the Westinghouse logistics teams with disputes, including supplier schedule and quality issue resolution. Coordinate quality audit activities and cost reduction initiatives. Prepare and communicate key project milestone updates and risks for key stakeholders. Proactively manage risk and escalate as appropriate for risk mitigation. Manage Supplier Corrective Action Reports for Logistics suppliers. Who You Are: BA/BS in areas of Supply Chain, Business, or similar discipline or equivalent experience 4+ years of procurement or global transport experience
