Shipper/Receiver

Job Summary & Essential Functions: The following describes in generalterms the purpose and scope of the position. Responsible for activities relatedto the shipment of goods to customers and suppliers as well as the receivingand disbursement of purchased items from suppliers.

  • Receive parts from external sources requiring receipt into the BAAN ERP system.
  • Where appropriate, open packages, remove product and visually inspect for damage.
  • Report instances of damaged goods to appropriate authority.
  • Process receipt of purchased goods into BAAN ERP system.
  • Disburse received goods to appropriate personnel as directed by procedure, Team Leader or Work Center Manager.
  • Receive parts for shipment from manufacturing or withdraw from finished goods or kit inventory as required.
  • Check to ensure that parts may be processed for shipment as required by customer.

Prepare parts for shipping including part marking as required. Check to ensure part mark legibility, accuracy and conformance to customer standard.

  • Package parts to ship in accordance with applicable industry and customer standards.
  • Prepare applicable shipping carton labels using appropriate system for the assigned carrier.
  • Check to ensure that parts may be processed for shipment as required by Supply Chain Department in the case of product being sent for outside processing.
  • Prepare parts for part marking per customer specs via blueprints, drawings, mylars etc.
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts and 6S activities.
  • Reads, understands and works to F-SOP-230, F-SOP-4300.
  • Valid drivers' license required.
  • Ducommun trained and certified to operate forklift. Recertification is required every 3 years.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary.
  • Performs other duties asassigned or required by the position

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
  • The employee frequently is required to walk and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Annual baseline hearing test is required.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

RequiredExperience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully,an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training,minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus anycertifications in order to be considered.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Basic PC navigation skills are required
  • Ducommun trained and certified to operate forklift.Recertification is required every 3 years.
  • Reads, understands and works to F-SOP-230, F-SOP-4300.
  • Valid drivers' license required.

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of thosean employee encounters while performing the essential functions of thejob. Safety glasses, safety shoes andother designated personal protective equipment as required for the position.

  • Working conditions are:80% manufacturing / 20% office environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, hazardous materials and outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Hearing protection is required in designated areas.
  • Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas, including the Shipping / Receiving areas.
  • Fully enclosed shoes of solid, leather construction with a steel or composite toe cap (ANSI Z41 compliant) must be worn in all manufacturing areas, including the Shipping / Receiving areas.

This is a generic job posting for a Shipper/Receiver. Depending on the candidate's skills, qualifications and experience, they will be hired into an entry (I) level, intermediate (II) level or expert (III) level job and pay scale.

Base Compensation: USD 18.00 - 25.00 Paid Hourly
