What you'll do The Perinatal Licensed Practical Nurse, under the direction of the medical and nursing personnel the Perinatal LPN assists in basic care of the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and neonatal patient. The Perinatal Licensed Practical Nurse also maintains unit equipment and supplies, performs basic screening tests, collects specimens and assists physicians, midwives and nurses with procedures and peri-operative cases. The Perinatal Licensed Practical Nurse serves as a member of the OB-OR team as a scrub technologist working with OB/GYN surgeons, registered nurse, anesthesiologists, certified nurse anesthetists, and ancillary support personnel whose primary function is scrubbing for surgical cases such as scheduled and/ or emergency C-sections, hysterectomies, and PPTL. These functions include handling instruments, supplies, medication, media, specimens and instrument cases. When required, will function as a second assistant. What we need from you Education: Graduation from a Practical Nursing program is required. Experience: 6 months of work experience as an LPN, or A new LPN with extensive experience as a tech in a procedure room or operating room. Licensure/Certificates: Current NYS licensures as a LPN or valid interim permit is required. Skills: Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in required nursing skills relevant to area of practice. Ability to multi-task effectively in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to lead approved work unit initiatives. Excellent motor, hand, eye coordination. Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, squatting and kneeling required throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and position patients required. Must be able to identify and differentiate colors. Category I risk exposure as defined by OSHA. Ability to focus for extended periods of time. This position is eligible for a sign on bonus up to: USD $20,000.00 Pay Transparency Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $25.23/Hr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $37.85/Hr.
