AptarGroup, Inc. Assembly Technician I in Congers, New York

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices.

* Confer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, or product quality.

* Regulate/shut down equipment during emergency situations or as directed by supervisory personnel.

* Work with injection molding and operate assembly machinery in a Cleanroom and Softwall environment.

* Draw samples of products and conduct quality control tests to ensure conformance to specifications using measuring devices, microscopes, gauges, or calipers.

* Accurately record operating data, such as process conditions, test results or instrument readings as it is collected.

* Communicate information to supervisors, co-workers, and technicians as required.

* Maintain supplies by checking stock, anticipating and requesting supplies needed.

* Maintain quality standards and perform continuous quality checks to ensure that products meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements by conducting in-process inspection, line clearance, completing production records and continually monitoring the process.

* Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with company procedures, rules and regulations and report any dangerous situations or malfunction of equipment.

* Participate in product and equipment investigations, report and investigate non-conformities.

* Read production orders and communicate with coworkers in order to determine machine and equipment settings and adjustments, and supply and product specifications.

* Remove minor jammed materials from machines and readjust components as necessary to resume normal operations.

* Assemble cartons for packaging as required during manufacturing operations.

* Meet company attendance standards.

* Perform recycling procedures and other duties as necessary. (Sort, transfer, cleaning, control waste and recycling throughout the facility).

* Housekeeping and sanitation as needed or requested.

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent, technical school or related experience.

* Detail oriented, rigorous, analytical, reactive and good interpersonal skills.

Skills/Abilities

* Worked and operated assembly machinery and computers in a Clean Room Environment.

* Able to follow written and verbal instructions.

* Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

* Able to stand, walk, and bend during performance of expected duties.

* Basic computer literacy.
