Description

We are seeking a meticulous Medical Records Clerk to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing patient files, scrutinizing discharge charts, handling medical record requests, and maintaining a high standard of attendance. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and organize patient files on the units

• Conduct thorough reviews of discharge charts, ensuring they are in proper order and free from omissions

• Take responsibility for correcting any found omissions in discharge charts

• Ensure discharged charts are properly closed and stored in medical records file

• Handle requests for medical records, including copying and mailing

• Liaise with the DNS for review of medical records

• Maintain a log of all medical record requests

• Provide records to staff as required and ensure their return

• Manage the shredding of records that are older than 7 years

• Uphold a strong record of attendance.

Requirements • Entry-level position, no prior experience necessary

• Proficiency in Allscripts software is desirable

• Familiarity with Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) is an asset

• Experience with Cerner Technologies would be beneficial

• Knowledge of EHR SYSTEM is preferred

• Ability to efficiently handle Answering Inbound Calls

• Auditing skills are required for the role

• Experience in Billing Functions is appreciated

• Ability to create and interpret Charts - Graphs

• Familiarity with Claim Administration is a plus TalentMatch®
