Welsbach Electric is one of the largest commercial electrical contractors in New York City. We specialize in outdoor electrical construction and maintenance, including complete design build construction, for government agencies, utilities, and private enterprises. We have significant experience handling a wide variety of electrical construction and maintenance services, ranging from intelligent transportation systems (ITS) services to fiber optic networks maintenance to power systems construction and more. Our headquarters are located in Queens, NY, where we maintain an extensive, in-house inventory of materials, tools, testing devices, and consumables so we can provide prompt electrical maintenance services. As a commercial electrical contractor, our onsite garage services over 300 aerial and material handling vehicles as well as heavy equipment for trenching, cable pulling, and splicing
General Summary
Performs maintenance and repairs on automobiles and light trucks, including, but not limited to bucket trucks, dump trucks, box trucks, vans, and pickups. Provides miscellaneous mechanic works, including but not limited to body work, diagnosing, disassembling and assembling components and engines. Performs all duties according to safety procedures. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Perform necessary work and maintenance on bucket trucks, dump trucks, box trucks, vans, pickups and other equipment
Comply with all Safety, DOT, and OSHA guidelines
Perform basic maintenance, such as oil changes, fluid checks and tire rotations
Repair and or replace worn parts, such as brake pads, light bulbs, wheel bearings and sensors
Perform tire repair, balance, and change out services
Diagnose failures and identify parts needed
Document and record all maintenance and repair work performed and parts used
Problem-solve to find solutions to complex issues
Heavy duty diesel engine trouble shooting and repair
Air brakes diagnostic and repair
Hydraulic systems trouble shooting and repair
Electronic engine and general electrical system troubleshooting and repair

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or its equivalent
Minimum 5 years of related experience at the “A” level
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Heavy duty diesel engine repair and troubleshooting experience
OSHA 30
Additional training and/or certification a plus
NYS Inspector’s License – Heavy Duty preferred
Sound understanding of diagnostic and repair equipment
Excellent organizational skills
Outstanding communication abilities
