Description

Are you passionate about supporting families by connecting them to necessary services and resources? Are you experienced in community outreach, human services, or food pantry operations, and do you possess supervisory experience? We are hiring for the Site Supervisor position of our Cohoes Food Pantry operations.

The Site Supervisor position is responsible for developing and managing our Food Pantry and Community Outreach Office in Cohoes. The position reports to the Community and Career Services Department Director, supervises support staff and interns, and works closely with the Service Navigation Team and other departments to meet organizational and programmatic goals. The position also requires occasional visits to the agency's main offices in Albany for management meetings and conducting other work-related activities.

This role focuses on providing vision, leadership, planning/organizing, and managing agency food pantry inventory and operations to ensure accessible and available on-site resources to meet new participants' and current clients' immediate, short-term nutrition needs. Provides support in connecting families to necessary services and resources. The position also works closely with the staff on food deliveries, pick-ups, food bank visits, stocking and inventory monitoring, and following safety protocols.

Responsibilities include:

  • Compliance with program performance standards and regulations, quality control, and continuous improvement.

  • Assesses food pantry needs to assist the public and pursues resource development in the community.

  • Utilizes the reporting systems and databases necessary to meet regulatory agency's reporting requirements.

  • Event planning, case support, assessing client needs and strengths, coordinating the delivery of and access to identified needed services, maintaining records, collecting/managing data, writing reports, making public presentations, and preparing other documentation.

  • Assists with oversight of management functions to ensure quality programming for all customers, including supervision and development of staff following applicable laws and agency policies.

  • Monitor programs for gaps and obstacles in caseloads and funder expectations to provide effective services and work with the Department Director to develop strategies for addressing gaps and barriers and promoting greater program effectiveness.

This is an in-person, full-time position. Starting at $23.02 per hour; Monday-Friday; 37.5 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education requirements include a minimum of an Associate degree in Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related technical field, supplemented by a minimum of two years experience working in the field of Human Services or Community based Organization. At least one to two years of supervisory experience is preferred. This position requires a thorough knowledge of compliance with federal and state funding guidelines, such as federal poverty guidelines, TANF, and public assistance guidelines. Strong leadership, supervision, and project management skills are required. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications and data entry processes is required. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus. Must possess a valid NYS driver's license. Must be able to lift 30 pounds consistently and 50 pounds on occasion.
