1000 Islands Harbor Hotel, LLC Room Attendant in Clayton, New York

Full-Time and Part-Time The Room Attendant cleans and restocks guestrooms and related areas safely and efficiently while complying with hotel policies, procedures, and standards of cleanliness. REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper/Assistant Executive Housekeeper ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Include the following; however, other duties may be assigned. 1.Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping. 2.Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents. 3.Strip and make beds, changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 40 lbs. 4.Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly. 5.Push and pull vacuum and/or swifter throughout entire room and empty trash. 6.Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guestroom. 7.Sign for room keys, stock housekeeping cart, push to assigned rooms; visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance and sign off completion of room; perform a quality check on the television, telephone, heating/air conditioning, lighting, and promptly report any damage, engineering problems and safety hazards to management. 8.Participates in accident/loss prevention programs; adhere to health, sanitation, OSHA and standard operating procedures to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction; promptly turn-in, all items left in guestrooms after checkout and enter into lost and found log. 9.Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis in uniform with nametag; be well versed and informed regarding hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate. 10.Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems to ensure guest satisfaction and impress guests with quality and timely service in a friendly and efficient manner. 11.Properly store carts and unused supplies at the end of the shift.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good communications skills; self-starting personality with an even disposition; maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times; can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player; knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment; ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs; ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms overhead to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined space; stoop, squat, and stretch on a regular basis; attention to detail with good organizational and efficient time management skills.
