Description

Robert Half is seeking a Controller to join our client's team located in the Philadelphia region. In this practical role, you'll report directly to the company owners and be in charge of the company's financial operations within a collaborative office atmosphere.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • All aspects of internal and external financial reporting, partnered with an external accountancy firm to plan and project for yearly statements and taxation.

  • In-depth knowledge of job costing and the analysis and reporting of percentage of completion revenue recognition, including the Work-in-Progress Schedule, is indispensable.

  • Proficient in Prevailing Wage, Davis Bacon, Certified Payroll and Union contract compliance and reporting.

  • Handle annual insurance renewal and vendor proposal management. You will also take charge of managing state and local business registrations, licenses, certifications, and tax compliance.

  • All day-to-day accounting functions, which include AR, AP, PR, and construction billings will come under your supervision and support.

  • Streamline processes wherever practical and back the company-wide initiative to reduce or abolish paper usage in the office and field, opting instead for electronic communication and document storage.

    Requirements

The ideal Controller candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in systems, finance or accounting strongly preferred. MBA or CPA preferred.

Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to:

  • 5+ years experience in a Director role or previous experience as a Controller

  • Active CPA License Required

  • Construction or Property Experience preferred

  • Ability to lead, manage, and grow a high-performing team

  • Demonstrated and strong understanding of all phases of sales, payable and payroll cycles, period closes, accruals, taxation, accounting processes, internal controls, and GAAP

  • Superior quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
