Radiology – MRI Tech – Full Time-Day shift- 8a-6p- Req 8399

Pay Range: $38.24-$51.98*

Provides patient services using imaging modalities. Evaluates radiographs for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures. Performs all aspects of clerical duties essential to running an efficient department. Maintains all equipment to obtain best possible results. Is in-serviced in QA program and helps obtain information needed. Helps perform testing required by NYSDOH. Follows hospital and department policies. Assists in film retrieval from off-site storage facility. When applicable, a department technologist will be assigned as QA/QC tech, collecting data and results. May be required to serve as clinical instructor for students rotating at Carthage Area Hospital. When applicable, a trained MRI technologist will perform all MRI scans as assigned and associated duties with this specialty. MRI Technologists are required to have licensed certified to inject per requirements on Section 89.40 of Part 89.

REPORTS TO:

  • Medical Imaging Manager

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Associates Degree in Radiology

  • Graduate from an accredited MRI training program or completion of advanced facility training with certification in MRI

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Current BLS certification

  • Advanced national registry in MRI

  • National registry in Radiology

  • NYSDOH license in Radiology with injection

  • Complete facility based IV insertion education yearly

TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Basic computer knowledge

  • Maintaining confidentiality of all patient information

  • Maintaining quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory agencies

  • Ability to implement and support procedures and programs pertaining to patient safety and security

  • Exhibit proficient communication skills and ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a variety of personalities

  • Ability to sustain attention to detail and accuracy as it pertains to the monitoring and documentation of information

  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients

  • Acknowledging changes in a patient’s condition or behavior, and promptly reporting these changes to appropriate licensed personnel
