Legrand NA Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aAdvance Manufacturing Engineer Internto join theStarline Teamin Canonsburg, PA. This individual will be providing support to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Department. They will contribute to projects to improve or implement pre-existing or new products into Operations. They will work under guidelines and supervision of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor and the other Advanced Manufacturing Engineers.

What Will You Do?

  • Assist working on NPI (New Product Introduction) projects to introduce these to the BUS locations.

  • Assist in implementing, developing automation scopes and projects for current and upcoming projects.

  • Assist in working with the Packaging team on projects to help BUS achieve their sustainability goals.

  • Assist with the prototype team on their rapid prototype requests. This will include assisting slicing parts into Eiger and setting up the 3D printers

  • Assist in creating operations documents, such as process maps, manufacturing plans, project scopes, PFMEAs, and standard work instructions.

  • Support and work with the cross functional teams on any VA/VE projects to create the required documentation and procedures to implement it into Operations.

  • Participate in Team-based initiatives within Starline.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a BS Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics degree or similar degree.

    Required Skills

  • 2D and 3D CAD software experience

  • Exceptional organizational, time management, communications, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office tools.

    Preferred Skills

  • Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.

  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk and communicate with others.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time

  • Ability to lift up and carry to 25 pounds
