The Estimator will gather, evaluate, and then prepare detailed bids. They may gather information by analyzing proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to understand the project. Estimators work closely with project managers to coordinate and oversee the vendors and/or subcontractors in the bid process. They determine the time, labor, materials, and product costs for the project and communicate the requirements to the client.

Description

• Review blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the project and then prepare detailed estimates.

• Analyzing documents, blueprints, and project plans to ensure bid requirements are met.

• Provide all subcontractors with relevant drawings and specifications during the bid process.

• Estimate time, labor, material, and product costs to determine overall cost for project.

• Prepare written proposals, cost estimates, budgets and update for clients and other stakeholders.

• Coordinate, communicate and develop relationships with clients, vendors, consultants, contractors, engineers, shop personnel and project team members.

• May be responsible for some material ordering and distribution of drawings to proper personnel and other related tasks.

• Proficient in MS Office with a focus on Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of college preferred.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in plan and spec estimating.

• A background in mechanical contracting/knowledge of mechanical systems would be a plus.

• Requires strong math and communication skills.

• Critical thinking skills with ability to problem solve and make effective decisions.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using suitable time management skills.

• Above average written and verbal communication skills needed.

• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Candidates with some work experience are welcome.

• Possess initiative and good people skills.

• Must be a collaborator and be able to work independently on challenging projects that may have tight timelines.

The starting pay rate for the Estimator is $22-$24 per hour based on experience, plus overtime as needed.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
