DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: MANUFACTURING CONTROLS ENGINEER CO-OP

Amsted Rail has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Controls Engineer Co-op at its Camp Hill, PA location.

Description: The Manufacturing Controls Engineer Co-op will work for the manufacturing engineering department. 

The daily work will be split between "feet on the ground" on the manufacturing floor and part in the office.  Working with cross-functional teams throughout the entire lifecycle of the product and processes.  

Qualifications: * Pursuing a BS degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering * Academic or work experience with developing electromechanical systems, including software and controls for robotics and automation * Able to work near full-time during summer with the potential for permanent placement post graduation.

Preferred: * AutoCAD & 3D modeling experience * ROS (Robot Operating System) * 2D/3D computer vision * PLC/HMI experience

Personal Characteristics: * Must have the ability to work with people. Must be a team player with willingness to freely exchange ideas and relate well with others * Appetite for solving problems and creating solutions through software programming

• A hands-on background with a mechanical aptitude
• Must be willing to assume responsibility for accuracy and quality of work assigned
• Should possess good organizational skills
• Self-motivated to work in a rapidly changing priority environment
• Must be detail oriented
