We are looking for a Residential Program Counselor (IDS) to join our dynamic and growing team. The successful candidate will report to the Site Manager (IDS) and be a vital member of the treatment team.

Job Responsibilities:

• The responsibilities are therapeutic in function including but not limited to:

• The primary provider of a therapeutic environment for the treatment of IDS consumers in a community residential setting with very close and structured supervision

• Conduct program operations in accordance with the principles of normalization, positive approaches and sound ethical social work practices

Education:

• A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent with two years transferable, practical experience in the human service field.

Skills:

• Working with the ID population

• Understanding human behavior

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced client service-orientated environment demonstrating effective logical problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills

• Ability to interact appropriately with clientele

• Work effectively with co-workers as a team player

• Basic computer skills

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and able to meet Volunteers of America standards

• Must be able to pass criminal background clearance from the funding source.
