Summary

Maintains responsibility for overseeing the management of connected subscriptions, revenue streams, department financials, and contracts. Ensures the efficient administration of subscription-based services, budget planning, financial tracking, and contract negotiations to support business objectives. Works cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Development, and Operational teams to drive financial strategies for the Connected Vehicle department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Subscription Management:

  • Manages the customer subscription lifecycle, from initial signup to renewal, cancellation, and churn-mitigation strategies. Creates detailed financial reports on subscription revenue, churn rate, customer lifetime value (CLTV), and other key performance metrics.

  • Owns the subscription business model, from forecasting to plan creation, including how launching new product and trial offerings impact revenue over multiple years.

  • Conducts subscription-based research on industry competitors to analyze market trends, pricing strategies, and customer demands. Implements pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness in the market, while maintaining healthy margins. Partners with Development, Marketing, and Operations teams to launch, promote, and operate subscription initiatives.

  • Oversees and expands the utilization of Connected Vehicle (CV) quantitative insights to guide better decision-making across the department.

  • Financial Management:

  • Manages and monitors the profit and loss (P&L) for CV department, ensuring financial targets are met and profitability is maximized. Tracks product sales and revenue, identifies trends, and provides actionable insights to improve sales performance and profitability.

  • Performs cost management responsibilities, identifying cost-saving opportunities and collaborating with teams to ensure cost efficiency without sacrificing quality.

  • Leads the annual budgeting and planning process. Manages the capital budget planning, approval, and reconciliation processes for new connected generations.

  • Provides data-driven recommendations to senior leadership regarding product performance, pricing, and necessary changes in strategy to improve P&L outcomes.

  • Contract Management:

  • Oversees contract negotiations, renewals, and compliance to ensure favorable terms for the department and organization.

  • Collaborates with legal teams to review, update, and maintain contracts. Ensures that all contracts align with company policies and financial guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of subscription billing models (e.g., recurring billing, usage-based billing).

  • Strong experience in subscription and financial management.

  • Proficiency with financial management software and billing platforms.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for financial details.

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple financial and contractual responsibilities effectively.

  • Ability to be flexible with constantly-changing and challenging business and technology conditions.

  • Strong understanding of the Subaru brand and how technology can strengthen its core values.

Education/Experience: BA/BS (or equivalent of relevant years' experience) with 8-10 years of relevant experience

Travel: 20%

Compensation: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $114800 - $164000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
